Based out of Salt Spring Island, B.C. Ashton Bachman is a diverse multi-instrumentalist focused on crafting several genres of music in a variety of projects. Often referred to as a local legend and musical staple of the small island he calls home, Bachman seeks to bring an organic west coast sound to wider audiences. His current solo act blends sultry blues elements with a Shakey Graves-esque folk infused rock and roll, using a kick drum and tambourine with his feet as percussive accompaniment. Combined with contemporary country fusion popularized by artists like Morgan Wallen garnished with hints of 70’s Pink Floyd and Bob Marley, Bachman has begun to forge an identifiable and unique sound. His lyrics come straight from the basement of the soul. Hailing from a musical family and beginning his musical journey at 5 years old Bachman began writing songs as a small child and has continued until today. His songwriting is powerful, sensual and moody providing a rare and cozy intimacy. There is a palpable authenticity that makes it clear he lives and breathes music. Bachman embodies a brilliantly unusual talent that can’t be plagiarized or faked. He is the real deal and blatantly stands out in a sea of artificial musicians.
